This accessory I purchased for my mother. However, as a tech geek, I can’t stop myself testing it, so here’s the in-depth boAt Rockerz 245v2 wireless earphone review.

Design, Build Quality & Comfort
The boAt Rockerz 245v2 earphone is available in five different colours, and the one I have is Ocean Blue.
Talking about its construction, the boAt 245v2 headset is made from rubberized plastic material that helps reduce weight.
I have no complaints regarding the built quality; it is okay for the asking price.
Once you put these Bluetooth earphones around the neck, it doesn’t even feel like it’s there. The ergonomics of this accessory are on par considering the price.
Inside the retail box, you will get pair of three earcups. For me, the pre-mounted ones on earphones fit perfectly, and I recommend trying all of them once you unbox the earphone, that way, you will be able to find the perfect fit for you as well.
Each eardrum has a magnet on its backside, and you can stick them together, as shown in the image below.
It is not the strongest magnet I’ve ever seen, but it will do fine when you go on a morning jog or at the gym. Since it is IPX5 rated waterproof, never worry about sweat or water splashes.
About the comfort, boAt 245v2 earphones do not hurt in the ears and fit tight in-ears.
Buttons And Microphone
The boAt Rockerz 245v2 includes three buttons, volume up, power and volume down button.
These control buttons are on the right side, and they provide tactile feedback when you press. Not to mention, the keys require decent pressure to function.
Power Button:
You need to hold it for around 3-5 seconds to turn on the earphones. A blue light will blink once it’s turned on. The power button can also use to receive incoming calls.
Volume Up & Down:
These two buttons are multifunctional. If you press volume up once or tap it continuously, it will increase the volume, and the same goes with the volume down button.
However, if you hold the volume up button for long, it will change the song, and to go to the previous tune hold the volume down switch.
The microphone inside this wireless earphone is truly amazing. It captures the voice crystal clear. You need not dig your phone for picking phone calls or rejecting it.
Sound Quality of Rockerz 245v2
The important part. The specification says that boat rockerz 245v2 features 12mm dynamic drivers, and the frequency range is 20 – 20,000 Hz.
They are not lying about the driver size because compared to my OnePlus Buds Z, the size of boAt Rockerz 245v2 eardrum is slightly larger. Let’s get down to business, i.e. sound quality.
First, the frequency range is not quite as I expected. Here’s a quick explanation about the frequency range.
- 20Hz is a bass, known as low frequency.
- 20,000 Hz is a treble, high frequency of any sound.
- 500 – 2,000 – mid-range frequency.
The bass is present in most songs. However, it’s not vibrant as it has to be, and it feels like the bass has more reverb in it. If the volume is up to 80% or above, the bass gets distorted and suppresses the mids.
The one that rocks at high volume is high frequencies and trust me, listening to only higher frequencies is a real headache.
To solve this issue, you don’t need to replace the earphones or need any extra tools to fix it; just set the volume at 60-65%, and you are ready to go.
I will not lie. If you are a core audiophile, then the sound quality of these Bluetooth earphones will not please your ears.
So far, my mother has no complaint about it and I took it for a day to the GYM, and I found no issues as well.
If we have to rate it audio experience out of 10, it would be 6.5.
Since the boat rockerz 245v2 price is less than 1000 rupees, I am very satisfied with the features provided. For general music listening, attending phone calls, etc, it just meets our expectations.
Is it Any Good For Gaming?

Let’s see how boAt Rockerz 245v2 neckband perform. I tested it with the renowned battle royale game BattleGrounds Mobile India.
There is a delay of a second, which is not ignorable because, in close combat battles, you won’t be able to identify the enemy’s exact location.
Also, while playing the game, I noticed my character moving a bit late.
At first, I thought it was a game issue, so I disconnected the earphones and tried my wired ones, and the problem gets solved instantly.
Again, I connected boAt Rockerz 245v2 earphones, and the issue started again.
Long story short, these earphones are not good at all for gaming. You can prefer these low-latency wireless earphones for gaming if you’re ready to stretch your budget a bit more.
How About boAt 245v2 Battery Life?
boAt says it gives 8 hours of battery life. Now, you can get 8 hours of battery backup, but the condition is you have to use it at 50% volume or lower.
As far as I know, not a single user in India uses any of their earphones at 60% or below.
That means getting 8 hours of power backup is not possible at 60-80% volume, and like I said 80% is not a sweet volume spot, so the best bet you have is 60-70% volume levels.
In my case, the battery backup I got is 5 hours 32 minutes with the volume level set at 65%. Which I will say is pretty okay for the asking price.
The charging time is almost two hours, and the one thing I did not like is that it has a micro USB port. In the present era, Type-C fast charging is going popular, and I couldn’t understand why boAt did a cost-cutting here.
I mean, come on.
Final Assessment
To conclude the boAt rockerz 245v2 review, I have considered three necessary points i.e. pricing, sound quality, battery and ergonomics.
For the asking price of about a thousand rupees, these wireless neckband earphones are not bad at all.
You will get good audio quality, build quality and comfort.
Except for gaming, boAt Rockerz 245v2 is perfect for regular use.
